"
One
of the first rules of combat is to "know your enemy."
In the battle to improve the comfort and musicality of your
vehicle's interior, the sneakiest, toughest, worst enemy is
noise. Untreated, the only way to overcome it's negative effects
is to overpower it with more drivers, watts and overall musical
force. While this approach works well to give you great sound,
it does nothing for your comfort and driving enjoyment when
you're just driving. The vehicle is as noisy as ever."

Road
Noise:
Even on the smoothest highways, a vehicle produces noise which
invades the interior. The tread pattern of tires roduces a
specific pitch and tone. This type of noise enters the vehicle
through the floor pan, wheel wells, firewall and even the
trunk and rear seat. |
Wind
Noise:
Wind noise is created by the effect of the vehicle being
pushed through the air at various speeds. This high pitched
annoyance finds it's way into the interior through the small
gaps, cracks and panel seams usually in the floor or firewall.
|
Engine
Noise:
Engine and structural noise is created by the engine, transmission
and all other moving mechanical parts of the vehicle. Structural
noise is the reaction of body panels vibrating and multiplying
those noises. These type of noises affect door, quarter panels,
roof, wheel wells, floor pan, and all other body panels. |

| Accumat
Damping Material :
* Significantly reduces
automotive interior noise levels
* Dramatically enhances car sound quality
* Substantially reduces unwanted road noise and vibrations
* Transforms your car into a concert hall
* Insulates the interior of your car from: Road noise, Wind noise,
Engine noise
|
There
are 3 types of insulation:
Damping : For Interior
panels, trunks and doors
Barriers : For under
carpet and transmission tunnels
Absorption : For use
as a hoodliner |
Damping is appropriate
when there is appreciable vibration energy being dispersed from
a structural part of the vehicle.
AMT045 is a flexible visco-elastic material that when adhered cleanly
to that part of the vehicle, offers superior reduction of unwanted
vibrations. AMT045 exudes no odors, has great flexibility, installs
easily and stops vibration noise dead.
AMT045:
For Interior panels, trunks and doors
. A flexible visco elastic
sound damping material, .045 inches thick.
. No heat necessary for adhesion.
. Material is flexible, easy to cut,
. Flame Resistant: Meets UL requirements of UL 94 v-O classification,
meets FAR 25,853 (6) Vertical Flame Test,
. Chemical Resistant.
. Temperature range: 10 to 170 with maximum damping between 50 and
100F.
. Available in box of five 1-ft squares; or box of eight (24 x 27")
panels.
Models Description :
AMTO45-SQ Box of five
(1 foot squares)
AMTO45X Five (1 foot squares), 4-color blister retail pkg.
AMTO45 Box of eight (24" x 27" Panels)

Doors
are easier than ever to treat thanks to ACCUMAT's ease of
cutting and adhesive strength. Acccumat stays put.

Application
of AMT045 damping material ensures control of vibration
coming from the doors and aids in reducing pass-through
of outside noise.

A strong defense is the
best defense. By keeping as much noise as possible out of the vehicle's
interior, less interior noise control is needed.
AMT250 is a specially constructed barrier material that uses a two
layer technique to block the pass through of most unwanted noise.
Tough and flexible, AMT250 is ideal for floor pans, transmission
tunnels, luggage areas, trunk floors and more.
AMT250:
For under carpet and transmission tunnels
. Ideal for under-carpet
applications, especially high heat areas such as the transmission
tunnel.
. A versatile 2 layer noise control material, .250 inches thick.
. Top layer: tough, flexible flame resistant material with excellent
resistance to heat, oxidation, light and weathering.
. Flame Resistant: Meets UL requirements of UL 94 HF1, DOT/MVSS302.
. The bottom layer: heat and flame resistant acoustical foam.
. Temperature range: -45 to 225F.
. Comes in a package of four 24 x 27 inch sheets.

Here,
noise and heat barrier (AMT250) material is being applied
to keep unwanted road noise from passing up through the
floor pan into the interior

Absorption materials
can be used both offensively and defensively to defeat noise. By
treating high noise source areas like engine compartments and under
the hood, unwanted noise can be absorbed before it even has a chance
to make it's way inside the vehicle. Under hood, inside trunks,
engine compartments and more - all benefit from the better control
characteristics of AMT750.
AMT750:
For use as a hoodliner
. AMT750 perfectly at
home under the hood.
. An acoustical sound absorption foam damping material, .750 inches
thick.
. Black matte finish is tough and puncture resistant.
. No heat necessary for adhesion.
. Material is flexible, easy to cut.
. Flame Resistant: Meets UL requirements of UL 94 HF1.
. Chemical Resistant.
. Temperature range: -40 to 225F; and intermittent heat resistance
up to 250F.
. Available in box of two (24 x 27" panels).

Noise
can be attacked at the source if you have the right materials.
AMT750 helps to absorb engine and road noise before it has
a change to invade the interior of the vehicle
